Happy 5-Reps Friday!
2 Coaching Concepts
The Seesaw of Empathy states that the less experience you share with a client, the more empathy you have to demonstrate towards them.
It’s common for a coach to academically understand the people they work with but not ‘get’ them.

Most beginners lack the following three things:
- Strength
- Lifting skill
- Movement quality
And no matter what their goals are, they need all three.
Start your sessions with a warm-up that includes mobility, activation, and movement drills.
Then work on teaching them basic movement patterns. Light weights, perfect form. Avoid fatigue but increase frequency, having them do the same primary exercises every session.
2 Business Nuggets
1.
Social media platforms are savings accounts. Make deposits when you have excess time and money. Think of them as an investment into your future, not a way to benefit short-term. It’s okay to hope for your online platform to generate significant ongoing interest so long as you don’t rely on it happening for your success.

3 useful questions to think about:
What do I and my business stand for?
What unique qualities does my business bring to the marketplace?
If my business ceased to exist, who or what would be affected?
1 Quote to Consider
“Sometimes it is the people who nobody imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.” – Alan Turing

I’ve eaten a lot of candy today. Like, a lot. Alison and i went on a date last night to celebrate (more on that soon). After dinner, we bought candy. I got chocolate rosebuds and caramel squares and ate a lot of them last night. And ate a lot more just now. I guess what I’m saying is that my tummy hurts and I’m not mad one bit. Hope you’re good,
-Jon
P.S. Glad me and wifey never had this convo . . .
Unbound Merino – My Favourite Shirt!
Most days Unbound makes up my entire wardrobe but what I really want to tell you about is my one shirt – the black v-neck.
First, it’s made of merino wool which sits on my shoulders well and doens’t ever smell. Next, it’s a plain colour t. No ugly logos. No joke, I have 12 of them. It’s all that I wear.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, moisture-wicking, good-lookin’ shirts, Unbound Merino gets my highest recommendation. I’ve worn their clothing almost every day for four years.
Go to www.unboundmerino.com and use coupon code ‘GOODMAN’ to get 10% off of your first order.
