Here’s what’s new this week.
Obvious Choice Podcast Episodes:
*If you only listen to one, make it this one.
Money
1.
How confident are you in the knowledge that you think you have?
How confident are you in what you believe to be true?
How confident are you that you’ve explored enough of other people’s worlds to know how to best exist in your own?
2.
There’s a passage written in the Journal of Humanistic Psychology by an 85-year old man who learned that he was dying that I can’t get out of my head. It said that, “If I had my life to live over again, I’d try to make more mistakes next time. I’d start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.”
Health
1.
Money spent on your health and fitness is not an expense; it’s an investment.

I’m only 38 and I already see it.
Fit friends seem to defy aging.
Those that don’t exercise regularly are going downhill fast.
You have a choice.
Today could be the least fit you ever are for the rest of your life.
There’s something beautiful about that. Poetic; really.

Relationships
1.
According to Aristotle, there are three types of friendships: those based on utility, those based on pleasure or delight, and those grounded in virtue.
At the bottom, are friendships based on what both parties can do for one another. These are most often colleagues, professional networks, or people you pretend to like perhaps more than you actually do because you sense that the friendship might pay off.
Next up are friends of pleasure or, I’d add, convenience. These are people who you enjoy sharing activities with, live close to, paths cross often, or exist in communities amongst one another. Some examples are neighbors, pickleball buddies, or fellow members of a religious congregation.
At the top, are friends based on virtue. People who you love for them.
There’s nothing wrong with having friendships of all types. But, as callous as it sounds, knowing what type of friend somebody is helps you prioritize your time and efforts.
A Few Good Quotes from a Great Book
“We can get better at separating outcome quality from decision quality.”
“The smarter you are, the better you are at constructing a narrative that supports your beliefs, rationalizing and framing the data to fit your argument or point of view.”
“What accounts for most of the variance in happiness is how we’re doing comparatively.”
-Annie Duke (from Thinking in Bets)

The Golden Month for Online Fitness is Coming!
During the summer months, it’s common to have lower revenue and little-to-no growth.
If that’s you, don’t let it get you down.
You’re not alone.
But, that’s all the more reason to take full advantage of September by going into it prepared… Because September is the ‘Golden Month’.
It’s commonly accepted that January’s the best time of the year for new business in fitness.
And it is.
But it’s also the noisiest and most competitive.
September, on the other hand, is ignored by most people who work online.
It shouldn’t be. It’s when everybody gets back on track.
Do you have a plan to grow in September? If not, you’re not alone. Most don’t.
