5 Reps: A process, an outcome, and how you do everything

Here are a few short thoughts this week.

Money

1

How you do one thing is how you do everything.

2

“The more I go after that powerful feelings of paying attention, the happier I am. The more I go after that powerful feeling of getting attention, the unhappier I am.” – Joseph Gordon-Levitt

3

An outcome win is the finish line. A process win is a waypoint – a moment on your journey. You cannot control the outcome, only your outcomes. There process, not outcome, should be celebrated

Health

1

Fitness isn’t everything. But it does help with everything.

2

Most lifters don’t want to run and most runners don’t want to lift. People will make up all kinds of excuses why they only do one or the other, but mainly it’s because they don’t want to do something that they suck at.

Two new books I recently read and comment

Return to Real by Ryan Levesque is fun to read. Crazily well-researched. And an all-around, a wonderful book. t forced me to look deep into what I believe to true. Challenge how I work. and keep the focus on the depth of what really matters.

Conversation by Vanessa Van Edwards is fabulous. I got an early copy and it’s already helped me be more curious and engaging. Loads of little tips, tweaks in questions, and phrases to instantly make you more likeable.

Below’s a bit of info on each. If either seem interesting, please add yourself to the early interest list on that page.

The Greatest Personal Trainer in the Universe is the first fitness parable in the tradition of The Go-Giver and Who Moved My Cheese, but set where we live: on the gym floor. (Learn more and early interest list)

The Invisible Heist is a memoir about getting robbed for $1.6 million. There wasn’t a gun. Nobody got hurt. It wasn’t a smash and grab thing. They got into my safety deposit box without opening it. There was no alarm. I don’t know who did it or what country they are in. (Learn more and early interest list)
